Your Monthly Business Operating Costs + Your Monthly Earnings + Taxes = Total Monthly Revenue Needed.
Consider this scenario (the figures shown are for illustration only):
- Your Monthly Business Operating Costs: $1850
- Your Monthly Earnings: $3500
- Taxes: $525 (15% of $3500)
- Total Monthly Revenue Needed: $5875
To calculate your product photography hourly rate, divide the total monthly revenue needed ($5875 in this case) by the number of working hours per month that you are willing to work. Let’s assume that you are willing to work 40 hours per week, which will total to approximately 160 hours per month. Thus, $5875 / 160 hours = $36.7 per hour.
